Your Gratitude Attitude
Gratitude – the simple act of appreciating something or someone….. Even though gratitude is a simple tool its impact on our lives is extremely powerful.
What we focus on determines our mindset – so how would your life shift if you focused more on what you are grateful for rather than what is going wrong?
Through consistent gratitude practice you are re-wiring your brain actually to look for things to be grateful for.
Studies show practicing gratitude consistently helps you feel:
Happier and more joyful
Less depressed
Less stressed
Increased energy
When times are difficult gratitude can be a challenge however practicing gratitude does not diminish what you are experiencing but it does provide some hope and there is always something small that you can be grateful for.
I hope by now I’ve convinced you that adopting a gratitude practice will help you be in a better mindset. So here are some easy ways to incorporate gratitude in your life:
Keep a daily gratitude journal and write 3 things that you are grateful for –the key is to make it easy like a good parking space that you found, a pleasant employee at a store you frequented, a conversation you had with a friend
Thank someone for something they did – no matter how small the act
Practice small acts of kindness
Send a text, make a call, write a note to someone and tell them how much you appreciate them
What are your favorite gratitude practices – and remember simplicity is key!
